Description
The Rum Distillery is located beside the Black River in one of Jamaica's most picturesque valleys, south of Montego Bay, where the Appleton Estate has been blending rums since 1749.
After touring the distillery and learning about the process of distilling sugarcane, molasses, sugar, wine, and rum, you may sample these award-winning rums.
The Appleton Estate's magic stretches back to 1655, when the English took Jamaica from the Spaniards, and the first recorded recording of rum production at the estate comes from 1749. When rum was shipped back in barrels during the English empire, it was determined that the time spent in the barrel combined with the slight rocking of the ship resulted in a smoother, sweeter rum.
